Eilat

Yesterday we woke up super early to ride camels. The weather was nice and the camels were even nicer. I personally got spat on by a camel…which was AWESOME. Then, some of our staff decided to throw camel cacki (Hebrew word for poop) at us. After the camels, we made our way to a beautiful hike in the Negev. At the end of the hike we each got an opportunity to rapel down a mountain. Personally, I am very afraid of heights so the experience was a challenge for me. But, through the help of one of the men staffing the rapelng, named Allan, I conquered my fear. That night we all went to a Kibbutz to swim in a pool and have a delicious BBQ. The next day, we woke up early again to hike in the Red Canyon. The hike was beautiful and the view was amazing. We then went to the Egyptian border to discuss some of Israel’s history with Egypt. We finished off the day at a beach in Eilat. Us Chicago kids couldn’t handle the heat as the Israelies thrived in its glory. It’s been an amazing couple days and we’re sad that this trip is coming to an end.

Love you mom and dad,
