Eilat
Tuesday night was arguably the most exciting night of the trip. We were lucky enough to have a Disco Boat Party on our own little boat in the Red Sea. Between all the dancing and the crazy costumes, there was never a dull moment. Then Wednesday we hiked up to a sand dune and ran, jumped, flipped and raced down the dunes, coating ourselves with sand between the sweat and the sunscreen. From the dunes, we went snorkeling at a beach in Eilat with beautiful reefs and incredible fish. It was quite an experience! After the somewhat lame showers at the beach, we drove to the middle of nowhere; the only thing around as far as we could see was sand and mountains. After getting little to no sleep from sleeping on rocks under the stars we woke up around 3:20am to conquer our final and most challenging hike of the summer, Har Shlomo. It was a challenging journey, but in the end it seemed easier than we had expected. It was a unifying hike because we all had partners in order to make sure no one got left struggling alone in the dark and we all made it to the top for sunrise. Now we are headed to Jerusalem for the last stretch of this amazing adventure!
