This year Shorashim has added Germany to the itinerary in addition to Poland to help further learn about Jewish roots in Europe. Spend four days in Poland exploring Jewish life before the Holocaust. Hear stories from an accompanying survivor about growing up Jewish in Eastern Europe as well as many personal memories. In Germany, we will learn about the past, present and future of the community and spend Shabbat at a local synagogue.
In Israel, you are joined by Israeli peers and together you experience the awesome adventure of Israel. Hike in some of the most spectacular settings in Israel; be a part of the vibrant culture of Modern Israel. Learn about how your Israeli friends feel about politics, the army, music, movies, and more. Create friendships that will last a lifetime!

Chicago-area participants will join with Israeli peers from Chicago's Partnership 2000 region, Kiryat Gat - Lachish - Shafir. Shorashim is the Chicago Community Project (CCP) sponsored in cooperation with the Jewish Federation/Jewish United Fund of Metropolitan Chicago.
