This year Shorashim has added Euro Plus to the itinerary, an optional 4-7 day excursion to Italy, Poland or Spain prior to your adventure in Israel. Learn about past, present and future Jewish communities in Europe and spend Shabbat at a local synagogue. 

In Israel, you are joined by Israeli peers and together you experience the awesome adventure of Israel. Hike in some of the most spectacular settings in Israel; be a part of the vibrant culture of Modern Israel. Learn about how your Israeli friends feel about politics, the army, music, movies, and more. Create friendships that will last a lifetime!

Our classic journey through Poland, with visits to the Warsaw Ghetto, Auschwitz, Majdanek, and Krakow. Learn about Jewish life before the Holocaust and the Jewish people's journey through its bleakest period.

La Bella Vita - Italy

Explore Jewish life in Italy then and now against one of Europe's most beautiful backdrops. See Rome's Jewish Quarter and learn about how Christianity and Judaism lived side by side for hundreds of years in this ancient city.

Sepharadi Discovery - Spain

Experience a cradle of Jewish Civilization and the home of some of Judaism's greatest thinkers and spiritual leaders. See the Rock of Gibraltar and the Al Hambra Palace - as we travel through one of the early sites of Jewish-Muslim encounter.

Chicago-area participants will join with Israeli peers from Chicago's Partnership 2000 region, Kiryat Gat - Lachish - Shafir. Shorashim is the Chicago Community Project (CCP) sponsored in cooperation with the Jewish Federation/Jewish United Fund of Metropolitan Chicago.
